  As soon as the service was over, our friend was stopped and asked to give them a credit card to insure payment. This should have been arranged prior to the funeral service, not right after the service.
  
  I would recommend using a locally owned, locally managed, locally responsible funeral home rather than a chain.

  I can assure you we have never burdened a family by requesting payment from them as they are leaving a service for their loved one. Payment arrangements are made prior to the service even taking place.
  
  Our commitment is to our families. Every family we serve is sent a customer satisfaction survey. Our scores are consistently in the top 10 to 15 percent across the nation of funeral homes using JD Powers. We continue to rank this high by providing service beyond expectation. The review on this page was from someone who never used our funeral home.
  
  Our community also knows we provide many services at no cost for homeless veterans, police or firefighters killed in the line of duty and indigent people. We have never charged for a infants funeral. They are always provided at no cost to the grieving parents.
  
  We were also voted business of the year last year for our involvement in the community by the Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce. We have been in business for over 60 years and our staff is dedicated to the families we continue to serve in the Lakes and Huron Valley area.

  Our experience with Elton Black Funeral home was wonderful. We were fortunate to have had Drew Kasprzyk handle the arrangements for my Mom's funeral February 2, 2017. He was not only extremely professional and knowledgeable, but personable, caring and comforting to our family and friends. All of the details (which we all dreaded) were simplified because Drew went above and beyond in assisting, advising, and being flexible with our lack of experience and ever changing plans. The obituary was so heartfelt and beautiful and well written. He never made us feel pressured or uncomfortable, but instead assured us that being confused and indecisive was normal. Needless to say, he deserves the accolades for making our experience an unforgettable one on so many levels. Our Family and Friends couldn't say enough about what a wonderful celebration it was and how pleased my Mom would have been. Thank you, Drew for everything. You come highly recommended by the "Brown Family & Friends".
